Ending Homelessness

This season we are working together to help end homelessness in our community.

Homelessness is a larger problem than people realize in our community. It's less visible than what you see in the city but it causes just as much hardship for those suffering. Check out the video below.

Ken wasn't given the best in life. He eventually found himself wandering on the street at night, cold, alone and shouting to himself. Despite everything going against him, Ken has made a remarkable come back with Stepping Stone's help. He wasn't just given a place to live for a little while. He has been given the tools to succeed. Stepping Stone truly lives by the quote "Give a man a fire and he's warm for a day, but set fire to his soul and he's warm for the rest of his life."

We need your help! Please consider giving $5, $10, $20 or more by December 20 to help end homelessness. Every dollar you give will be matched by Norhart. So, giving $10 will be increased to $20 because Norhart will give an additional $10. To give, fill out the form below or contact our office. Once submitted we will send you a statement and you can simply pay the amount with your next rent check.

All of the proceeds will go to Stepping Stone Emergency Housing. They are the only single-adult homeless shelter in the 5-county suburban metro (Washington, Anoka, Dakota, Carver, and Scott). They offer case management, work training classes (resume writing, job skills, and interviewing skills), financial literacy (credit, debt, and budgeting) and education (GED, high school diploma, and direct jobs skills training). They have a recovery group, and a housing club that helps facilitate roommates. All of their residents help with chores which is part of their work training program. Their volunteer program has many ways for community members to support their residents, from helping with a meal to running an activity night. They offer 3 meals and a snack each day, as well as a clothing closet, personal care and hygiene products, laundry and bedding. To learn more visit Stepping Stone Emergency Housing.

UPDATE
Thank you for your support! The deadline to giving donations has passed. We'll soon be announcing how much money was raised. Thank you!
