We are on a mission to create a better way for you and our residents to live. One way we do that is by partnering up with great businesses. Here you can learn about all the ways that we are giving back to local businesses, the community, to our residents, and supporters.

Job Shadow with Future Professionals

We had the opportunity to show two high school students from Forest Lake High School, what managing a business looks like. Here, they sat down with President, Mike Kaeding, where he shared inside information related to what it's like being a leader, how to give constructive feedback, the importance of a strong team, the journey to success, discovering your purpose, and ultimately doing what makes you happy.

A Gift To End Homelessness

Stepping Stone is the only single adult emergency homeless shelter in the five county suburban metro. During the holiday season, we placed bins at three of our apartment buildings: Emberwood, Mill Pond II & III, and Mill Pond Forest. Through our partnership, we have raised money for awareness, donated items, and have helped people from becoming homeless.

Inspiration Inspired by Hamline

Over the course of summer, Norhart partnered with 16 MBA students from Hamline University. The final capstone project was to create the next generation of apartments. It was a win-win scenario. To celebrate that the project was completed and to thank the students for their hard work, the teams had the opportunity to participate in a networking event with local business leaders. Even though we are done working with these students, we are still putting their ideas into motion. The students prepared many ideas that we will be referring to for our future endeavors.

Automotive Care

We want to provide you with areas of service that we approve of. For instance, we are now partnered with a company that will come to you to service your vehicle. HomeTread has reinvented the way that they do auto repair and maintenance for the convenience of their customers to save you time to focus on things that matter more.

Good Neighbor Day

In honor of National Good Neighbor Day, we took the time to thank each of our residents for being a good neighbor. In 2018, we put together little goodie bags and placed them on each of our residents' doors to thank them for helping their fellow neighbors, for caring for our buildings, for offering us suggestions or areas to improve, and for simply being a good neighbor.

Summertime Adventure

In 2018, we teamed up with Urban Air Adventure Park to surprise our residents with a gift. For the entire month of August, our residents and supporters had access to fun and adventure at a discounted price.

Holiday Gift Giving

In 2017, we gave away $20 gift cards to all our residents (one per apartment) during the holiday season. Our residents and other supporters are the reason we are in business. To say thank you, we partnered up with two local restaurants, Route 47 Pub & Grub and The Old Log Cabin. Both restaurants were phenomenal, but what was even better than the food was being able to give this gift to each of our residents. We couldn't do it without your support, thank you!

Helping the Homeless

Stepping Stone Emergency Housing is a homeless shelter in Anoka County. In 2017, we partnered with them to help get people out of homelessness. During the winter, we asked all our residents, employees, and supporters to consider giving to Stepping Stone. We then matched every dollar raised and together we raised $3,418. Thanks to your support, residents like Ken can break the cycle of homelessness to make a better life for themselves and their families.
